James Blake – The Colour In Anything [Album]

Over the weekend we got a whole lot of amazing albums dropped on us, including this one from singer-songwriter and producer James Blake. The Colour In Anything marks his third studio album release, and has already been recognized as one of the best albums of the year so far by many. The London born musician has a knack for bringing out the beauty in heartbreak and solitude and does it once again on this album. The album runs a  little over an hour and is driven by poetic lyrics, pulsing percussion and rich keyboard playing throughout.

2 Chainz & Lil Wayne – Collegrove [Album]

2015 was a year of major collaborations – Kendrick & J. Cole, Phantogram & Big Boi, Chance & Lil B , Fetty Wap & French Montana and of course Skrillex & Diplo’s massive Jack U project. Looks like the trend is here to stay as we begin 2016 and two of southern hip hop’s biggest names come together for a full length album. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz give us a 12 track album titled Collegrove – a combination of their respective neighborhoods, College Park and Hollygrove.

You know what you’re getting from these artists when they drop music on their own, but together they actually deliver some of their toughest bars in recent memory.  The production on this is solid as well, making for an overall fun album to listen to. Some standout tracks include “Dedication”, “Smell Like Money”, “Gotta Lotta”, and “Rolls Royce Weather Everyday”.

Majid Jordan – Majid Jordan [Album]

Anybody who knows anything about Majid Jordan knows that they were the writers of Drake’s 2013 hit “Just Hold On, We’re Going Home”. Since the birth of that track, Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman have been steadily working for the OVO team as songwriters and producing on their own music as an R&B Dance duo. They eventually dropped their infectious EP A Place Like This in 2014 and we have been patiently waiting for a full length project since.

The wait was definitely worth it, and this was obvious the moment they dropped their first single, “My Love” featuring Drake. From there they previewed the album with a handful of releases, all of which you can hear below. If you’re feeling the OVO duo’s debut album, you can purchase it now.

Pusha T – Darkest Before Dawn [Album]

The anticipation for a new Pusha T album is finally over. Although that King Push won’t be coming out until 2016, Pusha T dropped its prequel today to hold us over. Darkest Before Dawn, is a 10 track album holding features from from Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, The-Dream and more with production from Timbaland, Diddy, and J. Cole. You already know that Pusha does not play when it comes to the quality of his sound, and this album is further proof of that.
