New Jay-Z Album Coming Out

If you were watching Game 5 of the NBA Finals last night, you would have caught the announcement of Jay-Z’s new album during halftime. An advertisement sponsored by Samsung portrayed Hov in the studio with Timbaland, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz and Rick Rubin going over some beats that will possibly appear on the project. To have all these names working on music at the same time is something special, but we should never expect any less from Jay. July 4th is the release day for Mr. Carter’s twelfth studio album – Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Check out the commercial below.

New Action Bronson EP

The boy Bronsolino has been on the grind for a couple years now, and it’s all finally paying off. He was voted one of XXL’s top 10 freshmen of 2013, has been working with mad artists from Earl Sweatshirt, Mac Miller, Riff Raff, Wiz Khalifa and Raekwon to name a few, and is about to be touring the whole summer. He’s been dropping mad tracks and mixtapes on the regular – most recently, Rare Chandeliers – which y’all should peep. Now he’s dropped a 7 track EP, SAAB Stories, produced solely by the one and only Harry Fraud. It’s on sale now on iTunes for only $5.99. But Bronson doesn’t really care how you cop it… just cop it.

Danny Brown – Tim Westwood Freestyle

Danny Brown visits Tim Westwood’s crib in the UK to spit a freestyle. If you know me, you know that I love the dude, not just for his music, but his demeanor. Just watch some of his interviews and you’ll know why – the dude is hilarious.

Kanye West at Governor's Ball

The last headliner for the festival this past weekend on Governor’s Island was none other than Kanye West. For his set he performed some classics as well as some new joints of his upcoming album Yeezus. Some high quality recordings of his performance have surfaced. Check ’em out.

Statik Selektah album out June 18th

If you didn’t know by now, June 18th is going to be a huge day for hip-hop. We got four studio albums releasing that day from Kanye, Mac Miller, J. Cole and Statik Selektah. You guys definitely know the first three I mentioned, but a lot of you may ask- Who is Statik Selektah? And for asking that you should got clapped up side ya head! Statik has been making dope hip-hop beats for a hot minute now, and he’s worked with the best of the best from Talib Kweli to Q-Tip to Jadakiss to AZ, to even KRS-One, Bun B, and Souls of Mischief, just to name a few. Now he’s got a new album, Extended Play, that’s riddled with mad features.

Here’s one track off the new album featuring Sean Price and Mac Miller:

If you like this, do some research. He’s got a bunch of stuff all over the web. I personally recommend his album, Population Control, and his collaboration with Action Bronson, Well Done. And make sure to check out Extended Play when it drops.
