Diplo's Summer Playlist

diplo-express-yourself-nicky-da-b-music-video-watch-9After posting this I honestly don’t feel like it’s necessary to post anything else for another couple weeks! Diplo hooked it up with a 102 song mix for the summer consisting of his favorite tracks. This shit has everything from trap, hip hop, R&B, even a little bit of indie rock. It amounts to about six and a half hours, so turn this up at any rager and it will be sure to stay bumpin’ until the late night sessions.

Dope Andy C Remixes

One of my favorite EDM tracks of the past year, Easy by Mat Zo and Porter Robinson, just got a drum and bass remix from Andy C. This shit bumps while still keeping the happy feel of the original rendition. Andy C has been dropping sick remixes of some awesome EDM tracks this past year. Here is the remake to Easy, along with another favorite remix of mine – Major Lazer’s Get Free.

U.O.E.N.O. TDE Remix

The Top Dawg Entertainment squad made their own version of the controversial Rick Ross track U.O.E.N.O. Kendrick may be the only stand out artist on the track, but Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul are definitely on the come up as of recent. Keep an eye open for this team, as they try to take over the rap game with their upcoming summer tour. You can listen to the song and see the dates for their tour below.

New Daft Punk Album

daft-punk-random-access-memories-reviewI’m not even gonna front and say that I’m a big Daft Punk fan, because I’m not… to be completely honest the only song I had by them before today was One More Time. But who doesn’t have that song? Ever since announcing that they were dropping a new album, the internet has been going nuts over these guys, and it was only right for me to give it a listen. After one listen, I could say that I heavily fuck with this album and will be on repeat for a hot minute.

Daft Punk and the Apple guys were nice enough to leak the album and give it a full stream through iTunes. So go ahead and give it a listen. I promise you’ll fuck with it too.

It’s got only four songs, but if you’re digging this just Youtube some of their songs. They also give out a lot of their music for free through their Facebook page.

The guys over at thissongissick.com hooked it up with a stream of Thunder Color EP that can be played below. Enjoy.

P.S. Good luck to everyone on your tests and congrats to all graduating seniors! Big ups to Binghamton University’s Class of 2013!

New Kendrick Lamar Video

Seems like Kendrick is riding on his high horse and is still asking for all of you to not kill his vibe. He is persistent on the fact that he is on a whole other wavelength than the rest of the rappers out there. He sees them, but he’s definitely not feeling them.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF8aaTu2kg0&w=560&h=315]

The video ends with text reading: “Death To Molly.” Guess he’s not about the whole ecstasy/molly wave that’s been taking over the music scene for a while now. Don’t blame the dude at all. He understands that real music can be appreciated and understood without the use of drugs.

I’m loving everything this guy has been doing and I can’t wait to hear more from him.

Fresh Pusha T Video

Pusha dropped this song a couple weeks out of the blue, along with the release date for his upcoming album My Name Is My Name – July 16. Now he’s got a video for it. You can’t deny that Pusha’s one of the toughest lyricists in the game right now, and he proves it on this hard-knocking Kanye beat. Keep an eye out for G.O.O.D. Music this summer as they plan to take over just as hard as they did last summer with that Mercy track and that Cruel Summer album. Those joints are still knocking speakers off to this day.

Who is Chance the Rapper?

Chance_The_Rapper_Acid_Rap-front-large

I couldn’t even tell you who this guy is. Apparently no one else can either- he barely has a Wikipedia page… and seriously, who isn’t on Wikipedia. Nonetheless, Chance the Rapper has been all over the Web since dropping Acid Rap earlier this week. So I had to give it a listen and ended up being instantly impressed. I can’t really put a finger on his style or flow, but the title of the tape is what I’m going with right now.

I recommend any fan of hip hop to give this at least a run through and judge for themselves if they’re feeling it or not.

French Montana Visuals

We got a lot of hip-hop albums to look forward to this summer. Montana’s Excuse My French is one y’all should be excited for. The kid Frenchie has been killing it as of recent. With all of the publicity he’s getting from his party anthem Pop That, the New York native is ready to compete for the top spot.

Although this one won’t be on the album, he released a nice video for it. I personally love Montana’s mellow beats and thought it was necessary to share this one.

Fresh J. Cole Tape

Screen-Shot-2013-04-30-at-6.06.13-PMJ. Cole has been vigorously working on his sophomore album Born Sinner, to the point where he has enough loosies to put together a short EP for his fans. Truly Yours 2 proves Cole has not lost his appeal since his debut album, and can produce beats just as good as he can write lyrics. He’s got a couple chilled-out songs on here, as well as some bangers.

Born Sinner is set to release on June 25th.

Listen to Truly Yours 2 below.
